I've been having pretty limited computer access, so I haven't been able to update. Or write quite as much as I'd like-- I've tried, and am so spoiled from writing on my laptop that I'm practically incapable of writing longhand. I can barely get out two sentences before I scratch everything out. So, my Jan/Ilya isn't on schedule at all-- I wanted it done by Friday, but I'm only at about the halfway point. I should be back home by the middle of the week, though, and then I can make up for lost time.

Also, I've had the title for my Jan/Ilya for a while now. I named it after an Attila Richard Lukacs painting-- Gemini. The fact that Jan/Ilya inhabit a culture of shaved heads and orgies with an emphasis on homosexuality and violence can be greatly attributed to Lukacs, as I got the idea and the desire to write it after I had been looking at his paintings and reading every bit of information on him I could find. But then, I think Lukacs appealed to me in the first place because I have soft spots for shaved heads and homosexuality anyway, and his work just gave my story a special, specific dimension-- it's bloody, carnal, overwhelmingly masculine. Anyway, Gemini also pertains to the duality of the culture and characters, and of Jan's relationship to Ilya. Because, as I said, it's tremendously intense-- but in the end it's a love story.

And now I actually have to go work on it. :)
